Jacob’s Ladder is another early spring bloomer that bees, butterflies, moths, flies and beetles all take advantage of as a food source. It has delicate looking flowers and a lovely compound leaf structure with stalks containing up to 17 leaflets. Blooms are plentiful, but short as sweet.

Jacob’s Ladder can tolerate full sun if the soil is moist enough, but does best in a woodland, or woodland edge setting with dappled sun.

Companion Plants: Bellwort, Wild Ginger, Virginia Bluebells, Foamflower, Celandine Poppy, Solomon’s Seal
