Our Mission

Echo Native Plants is dedicated to spreading excitement and knowledge of Ontario’s native plants and just how important they are to our ecosystem.

In a world where it is common practice to sell and grow plants that are not native to our ecosystem, we have inadvertently damaged that ecosystem and are feeling the effects in a truly drastic way. Between the ever increasing urbanization through habitat destruction, and choosing to plant foreign and exotic species where our native flora can still grow we now have over 240 plant and animal species at risk in Ontario.

The human-dominated landscape no longer supports functioning ecosystems, and the remaining isolated natural areas are not large enough to support wildlife

Our Mission

We at Echo Native Plants want to support our ecosystem and the creatures that depend on it (including us humans). We will make native plants more accessible as well as educate about the importance and beauty of native plants and the echo you can create just by growing native plants in your own garden.

“Restoring native plant habitat is vital to preserving biodiversity. By creating a native plant garden, each patch of habitat becomes part of a collective effort to nurture and sustain the living landscape for birds and other animals.”

— National Audubon Society
