Narrow-leaf Vervain has small pale lavender to white flowers that gradually bloom up the stem. It’s long bloom time makes it vital to many pollinators, including its larval host, the Common Buckeye Butterfly.
Narrow-leaf Vervain likes dry soil (but especially sand that is not too acidic), and full sun. It does not like to compete or be shaded out, making it a great addition to a rock garden.
Larval Host(s): Common Buckeye Butterfly
Companion Plants: Rattlesnake Master, Wild Bergamot, Lance-leaf Coreopsis, Purple Cone Flower, Prairie Dropseed, Eastern Prickly Pear Cactus
